MADISON (WKOW) -- The general consensus is that Iraq is getting safer while Aghanistan more troublesome. That assessment still had war activists in Madison rallying on Saturday.
Dozens of people marched from Library Mall down State Street to the Capitol.
At the end of the rally, they met with state lawmakers Rep. Spencer Black (D-Madison) and Senator Jon Erpenbach (D-Middleton), who are proposing that Governor Jim Doyle review deployment of the Wisconsin's National Guard.
Similar rallies took place around the country on April 4. It is the 42nd anniversary of when Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. openly opposed the Vietnam War.
The day is also the 60th anniversary of the formation of NATO.
