UPDATE (WKOW) --- The Federal Reserve has released the criteria they used to judge the stability of the top U.S. banks.
No results will be public until May 4th.
The report suggests that regulators are focusing on the amount of capital they want banks to hold along with how well they can absorb future losses.
WASHINGTON (WKOW) -- The nation's 19 largest financial institution will recieve grades today on there recent "stress tests."
The tests were done to look at the overall stability of the institutions to be sure they are strong enough to succeed if the recession worsens.
All of the banks will get their results privately and will not be released publicly until May 4.
Later today, officials will release details on the stress-test methodology.
Those details could give clues about which banks may be in trouble and could start raising industry-wide concerns.
