Dog thrown of 30 foot bridge in Northwestern Wisconsin
OLIVER (WKOW) -- Police in Northwestern Wisconsin are following new leads that they hope will lead them to whoever threw a dog off of a 30 foot bridge.
It happened Saturday in the small town of Oliver, near Superior.
The dog's owner, Bob Mittlestad says he was out of town, and when he returned home that night, his door was open and his one year old dog chocolate lab, Bella, was gone.
Two people fishing say that afternoon, they saw someone throw the dog off of the bridge. She landed at their feet on the rocks.
Barb King took the dog to the vet. "She was in pain. I mean she was in a lot of pain. They had to put her down pretty darn.. you know, pretty quick, because there wasn't much .. (choking up) else they could do.."
The dog had a broken back and other injuries.
Douglas County deputy Sgt. Ed Anderson says authorities were following up on a new lead Tuesday.
