MADISON (WKOW) -- Americans For Prosperity featured ABC News' "20/20" co-anchor John Stossel in a health care reform rally Wednesday.
The conservative group packed more than 1,700 people into Madison's Marriott West, and by the end of Stossel's speech, the crowd was fired up.
Stossel, a self-described libertarian, has been openly critical of Pres. Obama's health care reform bill, saying the proposal would "make things much worse" and actually increase health care costs.
Organizers say they held the town hall meeting because Rep. Tammy Baldwin (D) would not host a face-to-face meeting with constituents. The Democratic Party of Wisconsin said the AFP rally was "phony."
Police were a major presence at the hotel, and signs were posted reminding everyone, "No weapons allowed."
