Running wild at the zoo

MADISON (WKOW) -- Hundreds laced up their running shoes for a race at the Henry Vilas Zoo.

The Zoo Run Run is a fundraiser for the free zoo in Madison.  It's the 4th annual event.

There was a 5K & 10K run and also a 5K walk on Sunday morning.

We caught up with some of the younger participants after they crossed the finish line.

"We like to run a lot and the fact that it is around the zoo, I think that's pretty cool," says Eva Gonzalez.

"Some the hills were challenging for me," adds Kate Vanderhoef.  "But, the (drinking) water made it better."

No word on how much money was raised.
