More H1N1 vaccination openings for Dane Co. residents

MADISON (WKOW) -- H1N1 vaccination supplies are more readily available this month, according to health officials in Dane County.

As such, Public Health-Madison and Dane County is expanding its opportunities for residents to get the vaccination, by appointment, through EMS services, at selected schools and at a targeted community clinic in mid-December.

  • Six clinics will be open by appointment in East Madison, Stoughton and Middleton on Wednesdays from 2-6:00 p.m., and in Sun Prairie, Verona and South Madison on Thursdays from 3-7:00 p.m. during the first three weeks of December.
    • These clinics are open to CDC target populations, including:
      • Pregnant women
      • Persons living with or caring for infants less than 6 months old
      • Babies, children and young adults ages 6 months-24 years
      • People 25-64 years old with underlying health conditions (click here to learn more )

  • A targeted clinic will be held at the Exhibition Hall on the Alliant Energy Center grounds on Monday, December 14 from 11:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. This clinic is for:
    • Pregnant women
    • People living with or caring for infants less than 6 months old
    • Children ages 6 months through 4 years
    • People ages 5-64 with underlying health conditions
    • Children under 10 who need their second does of H1N1 vaccine (which includes those children vaccinated with their first dose at the November 17-18 clinic at Alliant Energy Center)

 

  • Dane County Emergency Medical Services are partnering with PHMDC to provide the vaccine to the original targeted group. The details are still being worked out.
  • School-based H1N1 clinics will resume January 2010.
