Julia Fello is the anchor of Wake Up Wisconsin Weekend and multimedia journalist for 27 News. She joined WKOW in September 2010 as a multimedia journalist.

She is a graduate of Elmhurst College in Illinois with a B.A. degree in Communication Studies. She also attended DePaul University's Journalism Master's program in Chicago.

Julia is not new to the Badger State. For more than two years, she reported for a Wausau station. In August 2008, she began as a reporter and was later named weekend morning news anchor and executive producer. This was the first-ever weekend morning newscast in North Central Wisconsin.

Her first break into news was working for CNN as a runner at the 2004 Republican National Convention in New York City. The experience inspired her to have a career in broadcast journalism.

Julia kept busy throughout college, interning in Chicago for NBC 5 WMAQ-TV and Fox Chicago News WFLD-TV. She worked for both stations after the internships. First, she worked for NBC 5 WMAQ-TV as a production assistant. While working there, she covered anything from breaking news on the assignment desk, to field producing stories. Julia then worked for Fox Chicago News as a production assistant, field producer and live web talent for the Fox-owned website LiveNewsCameras.com. As live web talent, Julia was on the site about four hours at a time showing viewers local, national and worldwide events streaming live.

Born and raised in the western suburbs of Chicago, growing up near Wisconsin made it easy for her family to visit Madison and Milwaukee several times each year. She is proud to now call Madison her home, and works hard to report stories affecting our community.
