Tony Galli's reporting over the past two and a half decades in Wisconsin has given viewers and readers exclusive insight into the major stories of the day.

"Far and away, Tony Galli is the best investigative journalist in town," Isthmus' media critic wrote in 2008. "He is the only local TV reporter who strikes fear in the hearts of government officials."

"Galli has a long list of credits as far as breaking stories," wrote the Capital Times this year.   Those breaking stories include state government's inadvertent, public release of social security numbers; a school district's failure to report a teacher's suspicious conduct to state officials; a local hospital's million dollar settlement over a patient death due to drug error; and Brett Favre's inpatient treatment in Topeka, Kansas for painkiller addiction early in the legendary quarterback's career.

In 2006, Galli's exclusive interview with an official in charge of a questionable state travel contract was used as evidence by federal prosecutors in her corruption trial. Galli's enterprise reporting on the local banking industry's unwillingness to shred sensitive, customer financial documents helped lead to a change in state law to protect consumers.

In 2008, Galli received the Associated Press' Carol Brewer Award for journalist excellence, joining past recipients such as former Packers broadcaster Jim Irwin and long time Milwaukee anchorman Mike Gousha.

One of Tony's most gratifying assignments has been as emcee of WKOW's local broadcasts during the Jerry Lewis Labor Day Muscular Dystrophy Association Telethon. Donations made during the broadcast support local medical research,  purchase wheelchairs and other adaptive, patient equipment, and send Wisconsin children to summer camp in Kenosha County, where Tony has spent time as a camp counselor.

Tony's wife, Kelly, is a former member of the Dane County board of supervisors. His son, John, is a University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee graduate. Kelly's a native Wisconsite, and Tony came here too long ago for him to remember by way of New York and California. Tony received his degree in political science from San Diego State University.
