TOWN OF DUNN (WKOW)-- Authorities have identified the woman killed in a two-car collision Friday night in the town of Dunn.
The Dane County Coroner's office says the victim was 19-year-old Andrea Rose Garcia of Madison.
Investigators say around 3 p.m. Friday, an Acura Integra was traveling south on Highway 51 from McFarland when the driver lost control on the shoulder while trying to pass another vehicle and collided head-on with a Chevrolet Impala traveling north.
Two passengers were ejected from the southbound Integra, including Garcia. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The other passenger was airlifted by MedFlight for life-threatening injuries and remained hospitalized as of 3 p.m. Saturday.
A passenger in the northbound Impala was also taken to the hospital by ambulance Friday afternoon with life-threating injuries, and remained hospitalized by 3 p.m. Saturday.
The Dane County Sheriff's Department is investigating the crash, and asks any witnesses to call 608-284-6900.
UPDATE -- Authorities have opened up a stretch of Highway 51 in the Town of Dunn that was closed due to a fatal crash this afternoon.
The Dane County Sheriff's Department says the area opened a little after 9 p.m. after being closed to traffic for about six hours.
Investigators say a car was traveling south on Hwy 51 from McFarland when the driver lost control on the shoulder while trying to pass another vehicle and collided head-on with a car traveling north.
Two people in the first car were ejected.
Dane County Coroner John Stanley says a woman was pronounced dead on scene and three other people were taken to the hospital with serious injuries. One person by med flight and the other two by ground ambulance.
The identity of the victims have not been released. No word if alcohol or speed was a factor in the crash.
UPDATE -- The Dane County Sheriff's Department is now advising motorists to find an alternate route around the accident scene at Highway 51 near McFarland.

The highway is closed between Exchange Street and East Tower Road in the town of Dunn because of the crash, according to a news release at that time, the roadway was still closed to traffic.

MCFARLAND (WKOW) -- The Dane County coroner tells 27 News a young woman was killed in a crash along Highway 51 near McFarland Friday afternoon.
Officials tell us at least two vehicles were involved in the head-on crash, and at least three other people were hurt. One was transported to the hospital by MedFlight, two others by ambulance.
As of 4:00 p.m., officials say the highway will likely be closed for at least another hour and possibly longer.
