APPLETON, Wis. (AP) - The Post-Crescent of Appleton is switching to an official morning newspaper for the first time in its 156-year history.
Beginning Sept. 28, the newspaper will be delivered to all home subscribers by 6:30 a.m.
Since 2002, a morning edition of the paper was available for single-copy sales and was delivered to rural homes and business subscribers. But home subscribers in the Fox Cities metro area have continued to receive it in the afternoon.
President and Publisher Genia Lovett says more readers and advertising customers have asked for the paper in the morning.
The new morning edition will have a later press run, at 12:30 a.m., to accomodate late-night coverage - particularly sports.
