MILWAUKEE (AP) - Two men accused in a quadruple homicide are scheduled for a preliminary hearing Friday and could find out whether they will stand trial.
Twenty-1-year-old Desmond Laster and 23-year-old Anthony Edward Barnes are facing four counts each of first-degree intentional homicide and arson. They also are charged with possession of a firearm by a felon.
They are accused of going with 19-year-old Brittney Robertson to her apartment and helping rob her 23-year-old roommate Rachel Thompson. A criminal complaint says Robertson stabbed the Thompson and helped Laster suffocate Thompson's 3- and 4-year-old sons on Feb. 26.
Robertson and Laster are accused of setting the apartment on fire before taking Thompson's 6-week-old son. Robertson later left him outside a church before Barnes allegedly shot her to death later in the day.
