UPDATE: High-speed chase ends on Madison's southeast side

MADISON (WKOW) -- Dane County Sheriff's deputies arrested one man after a high-speed chase.

Around 9:30 p.m. Sunday night, deputies tried to pull over a pickup truck on Highway 51 in the town of Dunn after it was clocked at 83 mph in a 55 mph zone.  But the driver kept going.

A passenger jumped out of the car near McFarland.  Officers were able to track him down.  They say there are no charges pending against him.

Deputies had to use road spikes to slow the truck down.  It eventually stopped east of Highway 51 near Pflaum Road.

40-year-old Travis Adams of Madison was arrested for his 4th operating while intoxicated offense.  He was also ticketed for speeding and having open intoxicants.

No one was hurt during the chase.

MADISON (WKOW) -- Officers are searching for the passenger of a car involved in a high-speed chase.

It started around 9:30 p.m. Sunday night, south of McFarland.

The Dane County Sheriff's Department says deputies pursued the vehicle north on Highway 51, speeds topped 80 miles-an-hour.

A passenger jumped out of the car near McFarland, and police are searching for that person on foot.

The driver was eventually stopped on Highway 51 at Pflaum Road.

No word on what led up to the chase.
