Bo Ryan's coaching tree has roots in Wisconsin

Just as high school basketball will crown champions at the end of every season, there is also another constant at the prep level... The winning influence of Wisconsin Badger head coach Bo Ryan. When Ryan was winning national titles at UW Platteville... he was also molding quite a few future coaches, and Ryan keeps tabs on all of them.

What he sees is that his former players are all winners.  Their basketball programs are built on the foundation of knowledge given to them By Bo Ryan.  Locally, there are four coaches who played college ball for Ryan at Platteville and are having success today. Coach Bill Freidig took over the Belleville girl's team this past year... The program went from winning 14 games to 23 games along with a conference championship.

Madison Edgewood's Chris Zwettler, another Bo Ryan disciple, celebrated his 400th win this last season, and Prairie Du Chien's Andy Banasik, another former player for Ryan at Platteville, just saw his high school team split their conference championship this year.

Monroe Head coach Pat Murphy has a state title on his resume and gives Ryan a lot of credit for his program's success.
