BARABOO (WKOW) -- The former Weston School student who shot and killed his principal in 2006 may try an appeal by himself.
A Sauk County judge on Friday allowed Eric Hainstock's current attorney Paul Bonneson to withdraw from the case. Hainstock told the court why he believed he could try to represent himself in Appellate Court.
A jury found Hainstock guilty of first degree intentional homicide for the 2006 shooting death of principal John Klang on homecoming weekend.
Last month, Bonneson filed a motion to withdraw after telling Hainstock he felt there were no grounds for an appeal.
Hainstock turns 18 years old next month.
