"Meet Your Match" event planned, proceeds fight domestic abuse

MADISON (WKOW) -- Proceeds from speed dating fundraiser in Madison this week will help fight domestic abuse.

Domestic Abuse Intervention Services is planning a unique way to raise money to help fund their organization.

"Meet Your Match" is a speed-dating event held to help people form healthy relationships.  it takes place Thursday, April 2nd from 7-9pm at the Brink lounge, 701 E. Washington St. in Madison.  The program will include speed-dating/friending sessions, a raffle, information about healthy relationships, and live music.  The cost is $25 and 100% of proceeds go to Domestic Abuse Intervention Services.

"Talking and learning about healthy relationships is an absolutely critical step toward ending domestic violence in our community," said DAIS Executive Director Shannon Berry." The sad fact is that so many people don't know the warning signs of dating violence and aren't familiar with the building blocks of healthy relationships. We at DAIS are thrilled about the ‘Meet Your Match' event, because it's a wonderful opportunity to have this discussion in a fun and meaningful way."
