Weather radio sale before severe weather awareness week
MIDDLETON (WKOW) -- Next week is tornado awareness week in Wisconsin, and in Middleton people wanted to make sure they're ready for any severe weather.
Weather alert radios were available outside of Middleton City Hall on Saturday, where police officers were selling them. The radios give up to date information in the event of an emergency. Conditions and warnings come from the National Weather Service.
"We all have our televisions and AM/FM radios," said Middleton resident Noel Kakuske, who didn't want to take any chances. "You don't have those devices on and maybe you're watching a DVD. This is just another saftey measure to have on."
Dane County bought the radios at cost for $25 a piece. Residents then paid the same cost to purchase them on Saturday.
