Be ready for severe weather

MADISON (WKOW) -- The American Red Cross is urging everyone to evaluate how prepared they are for a weather-related emergency during Severe Weather Awareness Week, April 20-24.

Each year, an average of 21 tornadoes strikes Wisconsin and while late spring into early summer is the best time to see that type of activity, tornadoes can happen at any time of year and there is often little time to prepare.

The Red Cross has prepared a checklist of ways you can be ready at home or at work or school.
