MADISON (WKOW)--The ranking Republican on the Assembly Colleges and Universities Committee says he supports the decision of UW-Stevens Point Chancellor Linda Bunnell to resign.
Representative Steve Nass (R-Whitewater) praised the role of UW system President Kevin Reilly played in reviewing leadership concerns at the school. Bunnell has been criticized by donors to the school and student.
The recent criticism stems from a car accident in Madison. Bunnell was driving a state vehicle and was later ticketed for leaving the scene of the accident. She admitted buying three drinks at a Madison club but claimed she only consumed one of them.
The resignation is effective May 1.
