WASHINGTON (WKOW) -- Centers for Disease Control officials say the best way to protect yourself against the threat of swine flu is to remember basic hygiene we were taught as children.
That includes covering your mouth when you cough, stay home if you have a fever and frequently wash your hands.
The acting director of the CDC said Monday morning the U.S. government is being "extremely aggressive" in the steps begin taken to protect the American public. Richard Besser says he would not personally recommend traveling to parts of Mexico where the virus has taken hold, but federal authorities have not decided upon any travel bans.
