Free computer and electronics recycling to UW students
MADISON (WKOW) -- Here's a good opportunity for college students. The University Book Store is offering a free recycling program for unwanted or unnecessary electronics.
The program is available to any UW student with a current UW ID. Students can drop off monitors, laptops, keyboards, mice, scanners and other electronics, including cell phones, digital cameras, and CD players, during business hours to Digital Outpost, 673 State Street (corner of Lake and State Streets).
Televisions are not allowed, but there is no limit to the number of other items, and there's no cost to UW students.
All computer hard drives are removed and shredded by Cascade Asset Management in an effort to protect students' personal information.
