SAUK PRAIRIE (WKOW) -- An area motorcycle dealer received an award Saturday their effort to help find a cure for muscular dystrophy.
The Muscular Dystrophy Association recognized Sauk Prairie Harley Davidson for raising more than one-million dollars. It is one of only eight Harley dealers in the nation to receive the award. The Sauk Prairie dealer has actually raised about $1.7 million in its 25-year history of donating to the MDA.
The National MDA Goodwill Ambassador, nine-year old Abbey Umaili was also there today. She wanted to encourage people that a difference can be made with the smallest of donations. "Even if you give a little bit. It always adds up to a lot." She said. "And we're going to find a cure with all those little bits."
The Sauk Prairie dealer also spent today getting ready for its 24th annual Freedom Ride on July 18. They hope to raise 100-thousand dollars this year. All of those proceeds benefit the MDA.
WKOW is a proud sponsor of the MDA Telethon held over Labor Day weekend.
