BOLINGBROOK, IL (WKOW) -- Former Bolingbrook, IL Police Officer, Drew Peterson was arrested near his home for the murder of his third wide, Kathleen Savio.
Savio was found dead in the a dry bathtub in 2004. It was ruled an accidental drowning, but after Peterson's fourth wife, Stacey, disappeared in October of 2007, officials reopened the Savio case. Her body was exhumed in November, 2007.
Illinois State Police took Peterson into custody during a traffic stop shortly after 5:00 p.m..
"The Grand Jury returned a two count bill of indictment, charging two counts of first degree murder, one on the theory of intentional killing, the second knowingly doing an act that can cause great bodily harm." said James Glasgow, Will County State's Attorney.
Stacy Peterson is still missing. Drew has said he believes she ran off with another man. Police are still investigating that case and say Drew Peterson is a suspect in Stacy's disappearance.
Peterson is being held on a $20 million bond.
