DETROIT (WKOW) -- One day after nearly 800 Chrysler dealerships received word the automaker would cease doing business with them, General Motors dealers are now waiting to hear their future.
GM is expected to notify 1,100 U.S. dealers on Friday that their franchise agreements will not be renewed, either by telephone or by FedEx letters that will begin arriving in the morning.
The company says it has too many dealerships, and too few sales. The cuts are part of its government-ordered restructuring plan.
