WAUNAKEE (WKOW) -- Heritage Elementary School in Waunakee blew away its fundraising goal for the American Cancer Association and four faculty members had to pay the price.
The principal and three teachers promised to shave their heads if the school raised $400 in its penny drive. It wound up with almost $1,000.
Two teachers at the school are cancer survivors. And last year a kindergartner at the school died of cancer.
The money will be given to the American Cancer Association at the Relay for Life on June 19. Some of the school's teachers will be making up a team this year.
