MADISON (WKOW) -- Hundreds put their best foot forward walking to raise money to help fight Muscular Dystrophy.
It was the annual MDA benefit at Warner Park.
About 400 people participated in the 5-k walk. Around 75 of them turned out for Mary Kay Sauk, who was diagnosed with ALS.
Her mother Dolly Maurer says the event allows victims, friends and family to share their stories.
"Oh my god. It really is an awful disease until you know someone that's going through it, you don't really understand how terrible it is."
The money raised today goes toward research and MDA support groups.
27's own Tony Galli was the events emcee.
WKOW is a proud sponsor of MDA.
