MADISON (WKOW) -- A stamp in the Distinguished Americans Series will be unveiled Tuesday, honoring a Watertown native.
Mary Woodard Lasker will have her image on a $0.78 stamp.
Lasker was an advocate of medical research for major diseases who persuaded national leaders to give dramatic increases in public funding for biomedical research.
Her efforts helped make cancer research a national priority.
There will be an unveiling ceremony Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. at the Wisconsin Institute for Medical Research.
