State approves new positions in Justice Department

The state budget committee approved three new Justice Department position to investiate internet crimes against children.

Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen requested $732,000 for two new special agents and three computer analysts. The governor's original budget allowed for one agent and one analyst with $306,000.

The Joint Finance Committee decided to give the department one new agent and two new analysts, but did not include any funding for the positions.

The committee said Van Hollen will have to find the money within his department.
