MADISON (WKOW) - The UW System could have an easier time of putting up buildings in the future.
A group called the Wisconsin Higher Education Business Roundtable passed a resolution allowing the system to not need approval from lawmakers if it builds something for less than $2.5 million.
The board is made up of business leaders.
It wants lawmakers to change the way projects are budgeted to encourage savings.
Earlier this year, a system report said current building rules are outdated, cause delays and drive up costs.
