MADISON (WKOW) -- State budget cuts could effect the way the Wisconsin Justice Department works.
An agency spokesperson says their department would lose $13.5 million dollars as the budget stands from the finance committee.
That would mean nearly 80 layoffs, appeals cases left behind, and the evidence backlog at the state crime labs could grow.
The budget still needs full legislative approval.
