MADISON (WKOW) - The state is making stiffer penalties for employers who discriminate against their workers.
Gov. Jim Doyle signed the bill Monday which requires companies found to discriminate to pay compensatory and punitive damages.
Democrats say the law protects victims of racial, gender and other forms of workplace discrimination. Republicans say it will hurt businesses and lead to more lawsuits.
