Posted:

MADISON (WKOW) -- A nonpartisan report on school funding in Wisconsin suggests some districts may be forced to make cuts of up to 13 percent under the proposed budget up for debate at the capitol.

The Legislative Fiscal Bureau released an analysis Wednesday showing the possible effects of a 3.1 percent cut in aid next year.

The actual aid calculations have yet to be completed and rely on things like property values and other data. The cuts are part of the state budget scheduled to be debated by the Assembly starting Thursday.

The report used this year's data to give a general overview, which includes cuts of:

  • Madison: 13%
  • Green Bay 2.5%
  • Wausau: 2.4%
  • Janesville: 2%
  • Milwaukee 2%
  • Beloit: 1%
