MADISON (WKOW) - More dogs surrendered from the Thyme & Sage Ranch will soon be available for adoption.
The Dane County Humane Society says some of the dogs surrendered from the Richland County ranch have found potential adopters through the Humane Society's Breed Matching Program but more dogs will become available as the week goes on.
Eleven dogs have been adopted, and another 28 dogs are still working through the adoption process, and will be available after medical and behavioral evaluation. Many of the dogs need extensive dental care before they'll be up for adoption.
Three shih tzu mix pups will be available for adoption starting Saturday at the new DCHS West Side Adoption Center on Mineral Point Road.
The ranch's owner, Jennifer Petkus is charged with multiple counts of animal mistreatment. Thirty-two dogs are being held as evidence as part of the on-going trial.
