Wisconsin Congressional Leaders will meet with top Chrysler Executive
MILWAUKEE (WKOW) -- Wisconsin's Congressional leaders will be meeting with a top Chrysler executive Thursday afternoon, and the future of a Kenosha engine plant will be one of the top items on their agenda.
U.S. Senator Herb, Senator Russ Feingold and Representatives Paul Ryan of Janesville and Gwen Moore of Milwaukee plan to meet with Chrysler Group LLC Deputy CEO Jim Press at Kohl's office.
The Kenosha plant is scheduled to shut down in October 2010, which means about 800 people will lose their jobs.
Wisconsin lawmakers have urged Chrysler to reconsider the closure and asked the automaker to take advantage of the facility in Kenosha and its workforce.
