DETROIT (WKOW) -- Michigan lawmakers and GM workers hand delivered a petition to General Motors with the signatures of almost 20,000 people asking the company to choose them as the location to build a small car.
GM is deciding between Janesville, Orion, Michigan and Spring Hill, Tennessee.
Today Michigan lawmakers and GM workers delivered a petition to GM in Detroit asking the company to choose the Orion assembly plant.
GM's Vice President of Environment/Safety, Elizabeth Lowery said "We are looking at all of the factors; The state of the facility, the kinds of jobs that are here, the workforce, the energy-co2 footprint, community impact."
Last week Tennessee advocates launched a website asking GM to build the small car there.
General Motors has said it will make a decision by the end of the month.
