Update: Suspects charged after large fight on Verona Road

MADISON (WKOW) -- Madison Police arrested 5 individuals in connection with a large fight that occured early Friday morning at the Speedway Gas Station on Verona Road.

Jerome Sanders, 21, and Chiemeka Offor, 22,  were both charged with probation violation. Courtney Sykes, 25, was charged with possession with intent to deliver cocaine. Corvalis Stewart, 21, was charged with felon in possession of a firearm and first degree endangering safety. Dennis Ederington, 22, was also charged with first degree endangering safety, as well as operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated and a drug charge.

According to police, one man remains in critical condition at a local hospital with serious head injuries. Two other men were treated and released after being stabbed during the fight. A handgun, which has been recovered by police, was pointed at a number of individuals during the incident.

The investigation in to the incident continues with more charges likely.


MADISON (WKOW) -- A man is in critical condition Friday morning after a large fight turned violent.

Madison Police were called to the scene of a disturbance on the 4900 block of Verona Rd. There they found a man badly hurt, with a head injury.

A short time later, two other men showed up at a local hospital with non-life threatening stab wounds.

Police continue to investigate the incident and are not releasing the identity of the victims or any other information at this time.
