Madison men sentenced to prison for armed robbery of three area bars

MADISON (WKOW) -- Two men are headed to prison in connection with a string of armed robberies at area bars.

28-year old Daniel Rymer of Madison and John A. Olsen were convicted of of robbing Bailey's Bar in Blooming Grove, Packer's Inn Tavern in Madison and the Kountry Keg Tavern in the Town of Burke.   All of the robberies happened in October of 2008.

Rymer and Olson pleaded guilty to the charges on March 31, 2009.

A Judge sentenced Rymer to 15 years in prison, and Olsen to five years and three months.  Rymer has a previous criminal history that includes several burglary convictions.   The defendants were also ordered to pay more than  $8,000 in restitution to the victims.

John J. Olson was convicted of driving the getaway car in the robberies.   His sentencing hearing has not been scheduled.
