Drunk driver arrested on Beltline with 2 month old son in vehicle
MIDDLETON (WKOW) -- A Sauk City woman was arrested for her third offense OWI after a traffic stop around 6:00 a.m. Saturday morning.
A Middleton police officer, running radar, pulled the vehicle over for speeding on the west Beltline Highway. The driver of the vehicle, Rachel Robertson, 28, appeared to be intoxicated. A preliminary breath test registered Robertson's blood alcohol concentration at 0.18, more than twice the legal limit.
Police also found Robertson's two month old son in the vehicle. The infant was taken into protective custody and later released to his grandmother.
According to police, Robertson has two prior convictions for OWI and was therefore arrested for third offense OWI with a child as passenger, a felony. She is currently being held at the Dane County Jail.
