MADISON (WKOW) -- Two people were arrested in Madison after a standoff at a north side home.
Police set a perimeter at a residence on the 1800 block of Northport Drive at around 12:40am Sunday.
Officers received word Cory D. Sanders, who had an extraditable warrant from Ohio for his arrest, was inside.
Police spoke with a female resident, Paula Carter, who lied to officers telling them Sanders was not in the home and didn't know where he was.
Authorities say the entryway was opened by children in the home, at which point officers saw Sanders in the background with a knife to his throat.
Police say the scene became chaotic when Carter confronted officers as they tried to get to Sanders.
They say some area neighbors tried to calm Carter down.
Sanders was arrested for disorderly conduct while armed and for the warrant.
Carter was also arrested for disorderly conduct as wells as obstructing the peace and harboring a felon.
