MADISON (WKOW) -- Republican candidate for governor Scott Walker raised $1.1 million in the between January and June for the 2010 gubernatorial race, more than incumbent Democratic Gov. Jim Doyle. Doyle, who has not said whether he's seeking a third term, raised $903,000.
It's a significant increase for Walker, who raised just over $413,000 in the last six months of 2008. He didn't officially enter the race until April.
Since 2007 and through the end of last year, Doyle had already raised $2.5 million.
The Republican primary is still 14 months away. Walker has two challengers at this time, former U.S. Rep. Mark Neumann and Appleton businessman Mark Todd. Todd raised just $6,250. Neumann entered the race after the reporting period ended.
