With husband and PGA Tour star Steve Stricker on the bag, Nicki Stricker finished with a flourish to win the Madison City Championship.
Stricker birdied 3 of her last 4 holes to shoot a 2-under 70. Stricker came in 3 strokes behind defending champion Sarah DeKraay. DeKraay shot a final round 77 to finish four strokes behind Stricker.
Stricker attributes her success to having her husband on the bag.
"He was a huge help. I started not to feel so well over some of my putts, he got behind me lined me up and it made a big difference. It feels good, not as good as it did a couple of weeks ago with Steve [when he won the John Deere Classic], but deinitely we had a blast out there. It's fun to have him out there with me," Nicki Stricker said.
"I'm not taking any of the credit. She hit all the shots. She made all the putts. I just helped her read the greens. It's a lot of fun. I enjoyed coming out here and spending time with her. We don't get to spend a lot of time. We don't get to spend a lot of time together with me being on the road and kidstake up a lot of time too, which is a good thing. But one on one with my wife has been a lot of fun the past couple days," Steve Stricker added.
Heidi Hinners finished third, Pat Roisum took fourth and McKenzie Parks finished in fifth.
