ROCKFORD (WKOW) --- Police have identified the victim in the daycare shooting in Rockford Monday.

Mark A. Baramore of Rockford was the man killed in front of a classroom of children.

Police say Barmore was wanted in connection to a domestic dispute Monday around 12:15 p.m. that allegedly involved a knife at another location. When officers pursued Barmore, he went into the school. Once inside, Barmore was confronted by officers. "The suspect had gotten hold of the officer's gun, his service weapon," Epperson said. "One round was discharged, and the suspect was struck by that bullet."

Epperson says other shots were fired, including at least one from a second officer.

Both officers have been put on Administrative Duty pending a criminal and administrative investigation.
