WAUTOMA (WKOW) -- The Wautoma teenager shot in Redgranite had been playing around with multiple firearms prior to his death, according to Waushara County Sheriff's Deputies.
Authorities say 14-year-old Shane L. Zweck and at least two other teenagers had been fooling around with the guns before Tuesday's fatal shooting. Zweck was shot in the chest by a rifle. He died at the scene.
Sheriff David Peterson says the gun had not been locked away properly, and a local district attorney is reviewing the case for possible criminal charges.

REDGRANITE (WKOW) -- A 14-year-old boy was shot to death in his Redgranite home, according to Waushara County authorities.
The victim was identified by county sheriff's deputies as Shane L. Zweck of nearby Wautoma.
He was shot in the upper torso and pronounced dead at the scene.
The shooting happened shortly before 11 a.m. Tuesday.
The sheriff's office says a rifle was recovered from the house, where several young people between the ages of 5 and 17 were hanging out when the shooting occurred.
The shooting is under investigation.
