MPD investigating home invasion and robbery

MADISON (WKOW) -- Madison Police are looking for information in connection with a robbery / home invasion early Saturday morning at an apartment on Northridge Terrace.

Police say a 19-year old man came to the MPD North District station to report an armed robbery that occurred at his apartment shortly before 2:00 a.m. The victim told police he was inside his apartment when he noticed that the patio door was open so he went to check it out. The victim says he was then confronted by a gunman.

Police say the gunman then asked where the money and drugs were located. After the victim informed the robber neither he, nor his roommates sell drugs, the robber kicked him several times.

The victim told police he thinks three other men were also inside the apartment, but he only saw the man who kicked him. The suspect is described as black male in his 20's, about 5'9" weighing approximately 160 to 175 lbs. He was last seen wearing a red long-sleeve shirt with baggy blue jeans and a back "do-rag" on his head.

Police say the intruders stole several items, mostly electronics.

The victim told police the patio door was locked, but the wooden bar used to keep the sliding door from opening wasn't in place.
