Two Madison convenience stores robbed at gunpoint overnight

MADISON (WKOW) -- Police are dealing with two more armed robberies.  One happened at the Citco Quik Mart on Commercial Avenue.

Police say just before 11 p.m. Wednesday night a man entered the store and showed a semi-automatic handgun.  He got away with an undisclosed amount of money.  Police say the bag was white and had "Thank you" written in red.

The suspect is described as a black man, about 5'6" to 5'8" tall, with a thin to medium build.  Officers say he was wearing a black zip-up hoodie with lettering across the front, charcoal-colored jeans and red shoes. 

Police say no one was hurt.

Then around 3:00 a.m. Thursday morning, a Mobil station on East Washington Avenue was robbed at gunpoint.

Officers say the suspect walked in, showed a handgun, and got away with some money.

Police describe this suspect as a black man, about 6'0" tall, and about 200 lbs.  He was wearing a black mask, a black pullover hoodie with a white T-shirt underneath and light blue jeans.

Nobody was hurt.

Police haven't said if these two robberies are connected, or if they are connected to robberies early Tuesday morning and late Tuesday night.
