MIDDLETON (WKOW) -- The 44th annual Labor Day telethon ended with another impressive fundraising total, thanks to donors throughout south central Wisconsin.
Since early in the morning Monday, volunteers manned a phone bank at the Marriott West Hotel to help raise money for MDA.
Proceeds go toward programs to help those who suffer from neuro-muscular diseases.
WKOW 27's Greg Jeschke, Diana Henry, Tony Galli, and Kim Sveum hosted the event. At the end, more than $357,000 was raised.

Across the country, the Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon raised $60,481,231.
Lewis, the MDA National Chairman and Telethon host said he was impressed by the show of support from Telethon viewers even during these tough economic times.
"These are very special people, and their money comes straight from the heart," Lewis said. "Right now, the only thing I can think of to say, other than thank you, thank you is, ‘love conquers all.' So many people, everywhere, even with cares of their own, dug deep to show their wonderful compassion for others who need their help."
