CHICAGO (WKOW) -- Thousands of people poured onto Michigan Avenue in Chicago Tuesday to help Oprah kick off her 24th season.
The Oprah Winfrey Show paid to shut down one of the city's main arteries for two days. Gates opened at Noon Tuesday today for the 5 O'Clock taping. People started lining up to get in at 2:00 a.m. Chicago police estimate the crowd topped 8,500 people. They came from all over the world for the event.
