MADISON (WKOW) -- Madison Children's Museum hosted its annual "Kids For Peace" celebration.
The Saturday morning event started with craft making and music by local performers. It ended with a peace parade around the capitol square.
"We hope kids realize that they're part of a community," says Ruth Shelly, executive director of the museum. "They can work to make their community better; kids are just as important as adults in that effort."
The parade ended at the future new home of Madison Children's Museum on North Hamilton Street. It opens next August.
This marked the 13th year of "Kids For Peace".
