Fitchburg man arrested for allegedly stripping at soccer game


MADISON (WKOW) -- Madison Police arrested a 22-year-old Fitchburg man late Sunday afternoon for Lewd and Lascivious Behavior after the crowd at a soccer game complained that the allegedly took off all his clothes.

Organizers of the Centinela Soccer League say there were several games being played at Heistand Park on Milwaukee Street and fans of all ages, including children, were there.

According to witness reports, the problem started with a group of rowdy fans at one of the fields, who were harassing the referees to the point the game was almost called.

At this point, police allege one of the men ran onto the field, and took off all his clothes.

Police were able to track down the suspect, Franscio A. Cruz, and officers say they found him with glassy, bloodshot eyes, drinking a beer. When they asked they he did what he did, he replied "This is what they do on TV."

Police arrested Cruz on tentative charges of Lewd and Lascivious Behavior and informed him that behavior was inappropriate.
