MADISON (WKOW) -- Madison police cited six teenage boys for what they call a "hazing" incident on Madison West High School property.
Police say on September 14th at 4:10 p.m. the school's Educational Resource Officer (ERO) became aware of the incident that happened outside of school, but on school grounds, at noon on September 11th. Since then, the ERO and school staff have been looking into the act.
Information learned in the investigation led to six teens being cited for Disorderly Conduct for beating four freshmen boys. Police say the victims were punched, pushed, and kicked. Most complained of soreness to the arms and/or chests.
Police say the victims were told this was a "tradition" among Hispanic students.
Of those cited, four are 15-years-old, one is 16-years-old, and the other is a 14-year-old.
