COLUMBIA COUNTY (WKOW) -- State prison officials say an inmate at Columbia Correctional Institution is back behind bars after a botched escape attempt Tuesday morning.
James Frederick, 49, bolted for the perimeter fences while picking up food carts around 5:45 a.m.
Frederick stuffed his clothes with newspapers to protect him from razor wire lining the fence. He tried to climb the first fence but cut his hand and fell to the ground.
Officials found he also tried to smuggle with him a large bag of raisins.
Frederick, who once escaped from Kettle Moraine Correctional Institution in 1981, is now in solitary.
